Comin’ Up is about feeling overwhelmed with painful thoughts, memories and emotions you’ve been avoiding, and being curious about opening the door to let them in. Feeling haunted by intrusive thoughts and ruminating on the past feels like an endless, miserable cycle, but the more we hide these things away in shame the bigger and more controlling they become.

This sad-but-hopeful song was reimagined in an intimate live performance in Halifax, Nova Scotia featuring only Avery at a grand piano. This single blocks out the noise and cuts to the core of her skill as a singer-songwriter.
